Ductile iron is a graphite cast iron, which is an alloy mixing Iron, Carbon and Silicon together. Among the ingredients of ductile iron, graphite exists in spherical form. Generally speaking, the diameter of spheroidized graphite is between 1.5mm and 6mm. However, according to the standard, spheroidization grade should be controlled within **3 class(spheroidization rate ≥*0%). Therefore, after spheroidization, ductile iron possesses the natures of iron as well as the characteristics of steel and the physical properties of this material itself have been improved greatly. If the ductile iron pipe is annealed, its metallographic structure will be ferrite and small amount of pearlite, which will make its mechanical properties excellent.
