Mixed papers as the na,e indicates may contain any type of waste paper which is found in a recycling plant. The grade is separated in mainly two types, Hard mixed and Soft mixed. Hard mixed will contain a higher percentage of cardboard or grey board and as such is more suited to the manufacturers of testliners and fluting. Soft mixed will contain a higher percentage of newspapers, magazines and office papers and will therefore be more adapted to the manufacturers of grey board and to de-inking plants producing newsprint paper. Both grades have a maximum toleranc of 5% contaminants but may also contain treated paper.
