Product Description

Ogbono (IRVINGIA GABONENSIS) also known as African Mango has magnificent health benefits because of its high nutritional value. The African natives use various parts of the ogbono tree to treat a variety of ailments such as fatigue, headaches, indigestion, cramps, and malnutrition. The nutritional components found in this fruit are known to enhance energy, prevent fatigue and so it is widely used for a large number of health purposes today. Irvingia gabonensis seeds might lower cholesterol because of their high fiber content. The fiber increases removal of cholesterol from the body. Some research suggests that Irvingia gabonensis seeds might also affect fat cells, which might reduce fat cell growth and increase the breakdown of fats.
Diabetes. Early research suggests that taking Irvingia gabonensis by mouth daily for **3 months reduces blood sugar, total cholesterol, and triglycerides and increases "good" high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in people with type 2 diabetes.
High cholesterol. Some small studies show that Irvingia gabonensis seed extracts might reduce bad cholesterol levels and increase good cholesterol levels in people who are overweight. But this research is low quality.
A grouping of symptoms that increase the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and stroke (metabolic syndrome). Early studies suggest that taking Irvingia gabonensis **0 mg twice daily for *0 days might improve some, but not all, symptoms of this condition.
Obesity. Some small studies show that Irvingia gabonensis seed extracts might help reduce weight in people who are overweight, especially if combined with a low-calorie diet. But this research is poor quality. It is sold as a weight loss remedy in the form of capsules and powder. One way in which these seeds promote weight loss is by inhibiting the action of an enzyme known as amylase, which is responsible for the absorption of sugar in the body. So, by inhibiting amylase, ogbono causes less sugar to be absorbed, thus preventing weight gain. Ogbono also inhibits an enzyme known as glycerol**-phosphate dehydrogenase, which is associated with converting blood sugar into fat.
It helps in lowering the risk of diabetes by controlling the levels of insulin levels and also by maintaining healthy levels of blood sugar. It has also been found to be helpful in reducing blood glucose levels in people already suffering from diabetes. It is believed to possess antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, astringent, and anti-oxidant properties. It has been long used in the treatment of a variety of conditions, including diarrhea, dysentery, yellow fever, wounds, and tympanic membrane infections.
