VICDO HARDMETALS PCD is a cost saving cutting tool especially designed for higher productivity and longer tool life.

    Diamond in a polycrystalline form creates a formidable cutting tool. Benefits include superb hardness, resulting in wear resistance, coupled with excellent toughness thanks to a polycrystalline structure.

    In addition, diamond has the highest thermal conductivity of all cutting materials, allowing quick heat transfer from the cutting edge. With the exception of PCD’s high affinity with iron, it does not bond with work piece materials, so under correct cutting parameters, build-up edge is minimal. All VICDO PCD tools have the rake face mirrors polished to prevent friction and provide smooth cutting edges.

CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) inserts are in four grades: VBN*5, VBN*5, VBN*5, VBN*0. Different CBN grades can optimize the performance in various applications, depending on workpiece composition and properties as well as the applied machining conditions. VBN*5 are used for the finishing of hardened steel(HRC*5~*0), nodular cast iron and continous cutting the work pieces. VBN*5 are used for the semi-finishing of hardened steel(HRC*5~*5), nodular cast iron, and interrupted cutting. VBN*5 are for grey cast iron, powdered metal/sintered iron, super alloys/heat reistant alloys, sintered tungsten carbide>*7% Co, hardened steel and cast iron(>*5HRC). VBN *0 is for the high speed cutting of cast iron, cutting cemented tungsten carbide, and sintered metal and super alloys.

    The PCD inserts are commonly used in the Aerospace, Automotive, Hydraulic, and Household Appliance industries. The CBN inserts are primarily used in the Automotive industry, for bearing production and for machining of dies and molds.
