petroleum and salt.
PVC consists of two main
materials. Chlorine (from salt) and Ethylene (from
crude oil). This
compound, ethylene dichloride, is converted to Vinyl Chloride
Monomer (VCM) gas at very high
temperatures. VCM turns into a chemically stable
powder through a chemical reaction called
polymerization. It is called PVC.
