Bin Hilal Enterprises (BHE) has developed a solution to the huge environment problem caused by the millions of tons of waste flexible plastics constantly being generated all around the region which are clogging up our waste systems and causing damage to our environment. Degradable plastic degrades totally and harmlessly – even if it is improperly discarded as litter, it will leave nothing more than water, carbon dioxide, and a small amount of biomass.

The technology is revolutionary indeed, producing a brand new product that does not alter the benefits of conventional plastic bags. It uses small quantities of a special additive, which is combined with a blend of plastic (Polyethylene and Polypropylene) resins during the extrusion process that causes a rapid breakdown of the long molecular chains leading to the plastic product becoming brittle and quickly disintegrating into tiny flakes .Stabilizers then ensure that a sufficiently long life is provided for each particular application .Therefore, different periods of ‘fit for purpose’ can be engineered depending on the final application of the material.
