The material for ring tabs has experienced stages from aluminium-magnesium alloy, electrolytic nickle or chromium, electrolytic tinplate and galvanizing steel with coating. At present the material by hot-dip galvanizing steel coil with protective coating is highly recognized by the market, and its merit lies in lower cost of galvanizing steel and better processing quality. The high adhesiveness between galvanizing layer and surface coating makes the zinc wrap the base metal keeping the surface unchanged while it disinfects the cut edge. The characteristic is more recognizable among markets compared to the oxidized rust by tinplate.
