What is The Rechargeable Solid Water (RSW)? This product was developed by the prestigious Beijing Tsinghua University together with the co-operation of the Chinese Government to address China’s drought stricken areas. 1. The RSW is a neutralized cross-linked co-polymer or partially neutralized acrylic. 2. In its dry form, the powder has a crystalline structure. 3. Upon contact with water the crystals expand to form a gel-like suspension. 4. The polymers are essentially insoluble in water. 5. The RSW is light-weight when dry and when immersed in water rapidly absorbs its water holding capacity. 6. By placing the fully water soaked bag next to the root zone of a plant, it efficiently releases the water to meet the requirements of the plant. 7. The large size the RSW (around *5 grams dry weight) holds 1.2 liter (approx. 1 kg) of water: this equates to about *8% water content. 8. The regular size bag weighs (around 5 grams dry weight) holds approx **0g again approx. *8% water. 9. There are other water conservation products available but the RSW is unique because the polymers allow the RSW to be recharged fully by either applying water or rain. The polymers have a ‘memory’ allowing them to recharge to full capacity many times over. *0. It is an exciting, clean and safe solution to your watering needs. ‘How to’ and Tips for Use of the RSW Bag 1. Recharging should occur between ****0 days to maximize its use and the life of the product. 2. Test using the RSW have shown that the RSW Bag can make nursery-grown plants live ****0 days or more without a drop of extra water. 3. A soluble plant additive (liquid seaweed) can be mixed into the water and RSW Bag will absorb and slowly release into the root zone as the plant takes up the water from the RSW Bag. So The RSW can provide a measured focused source of plant nutrient with controlled release just at the right point to encourage strong and healthy root development. 4. The RSW Bag when fully charged needs to be covered with soil or mulch. It is biodegradable and will break down if exposed to direct sunlight. 5. Although rainfall or watering will recharge the RSW, more efficient rehydration will occur if the RSW Bag is removed and soaked again in a water container – this enables additional liquid seaweed to be added as a nutrient.
