ROTARY VACUUM PADDLE DRYER   In RVPD Limpet coil or jacket on shell and Hollow paddles are used for heating medium and paddles or agitators is used for moving the wet material over the heated surface.The unit consists of a Horizontal Jacketed cylindrical shell, closed at ends by suitable head.  A central shaft is supported on bearings outside the shell. It is sealed by stuffing boxes against leakage through the holes in the head.   The shaft carries a spiral agitator or paddle with two sets of blades. One set of blades moves the material in one direction and the other set in opposite direction. Doors are provided on the shell, at the top for charging the material and at the bottom for discharging.   Hot water , steam or a suitable fluid is supplied to the jacket and agitator for heating.
