Sage (scientific name: Salvia japonica Thunb.) is an annual herb of the family Lamiaceae and Salvia. The stem is erect, the plant height is *****0 cm, the plant is clustered, and the plant is pilose.

The stem is quadrangular columnar and has a slightly lignified lower part. Leaves opposite, long elliptic, green veins distinct, glabrous on both sides, subglacial glands. The roots are dense. Terminal racemes, inflorescences up to *5 cm or more; sepals smaller, blue-purple, stalks stalked before flowering; stalks densely succulent. Calyx bell-shaped, blue-purple, glabrous. Flowering from June to September.

The rat tail grassland is produced in southern Europe and the Mediterranean coast. China is mainly distributed in Zhejiang, southern Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi; born on hillsides, roadsides, shaded grasses, watersides and trees.

 Sage is often cultivated as a kitchen vanilla or medical herb, and can also be used to extract essential oils, make sachets, and the like.

5.In foods, sage is used as a commonly used spice.

6.In manufacturing, sage is used as a fragrance component in soaps and cosmetics.
