The SANEL is a most versatile non-electric shock tube initiation system based on a slender, but strong, plastic tube coated on the inside with a thin layer of reactive material, that when initiated maintains the propagation of a shockwave at a velocity of about ***0 m/sec. When the shock wave reaches the delay element of the attached detonator it is sufficiently strong to activate it and ultimately initiate the explosive after a predetermined time. The shockwave is contained within the tube and has no initiating affect on any explosives column it goes through. The SANEL shock tube is completely immune to electric hazards as static and stray electricity, radio frequency, induction from high-voltage power lines, electric storms etc. making it possible to use where electric initiation normally is not permitted. Saudi Chemical Co manufactures two SANEL initiation systems: The SANEL UNIDET is a system with the same relatively long delay time in all in-hole detonators. The firing sequence is built up on the surface with connectors with different delay times. The SANEL UNIDET is designed for bench and trench blasting. An infinite number of holes can be connected in one round. The SANEL LP is a long period series for underground operations. The series has deci-second and half-second delays between periods. The series have a total of *5 delay period number ranging from 0 to *0 and delay times from *5 ms to ***0 ms. Special product: SANEL CR is a cord relay unit for blasts with detonating cord. SANEL CR relays the detonation with *5 ms when connected between rows/holes. Color coded: The SANEL initiation system is color coded. SANEL UNIDET in-hole detonators and SANEL Quickdet have red tube. The SANEL LP detonators have yellow tube. Surface connectors QR0, QR*7, QR*5, QR*2 and SANEL CR have white tube. NOTICE: Detonators and connector units may be ordered with tube lengths from 1.2 m and upwards in intervals of 0.6 m.
