Shaftless screw conveyor consists of a rotating screw inside a trough (tubolar or U-shaped), having an inlet hopper and an outlet spout, being the rest of the machine completely closed. The absence of the internal shaft allows to conveying sticky and entangling material, that is usually very difficult to handle and convey with a shafted screw. The bottom of the trough has an anti-wear protection, in form of HDPE liner or sliding bars, depending on the material to be conveyed (grindings, sludge, etc). The configuration of the conveyor can be “to push”, when the drive is placed immediately before the inlet hopper, or can be “to draw”, when the drive is placed immediately after the outlet hopper. The total length of conveyor can be easily adapted to the plant lay-out. The inclination varies in the range 0° - *0°, with a progressive reduction in efficiency: as a general rule the flow rate drops of *0% at an angle of *0°, compared to the flow rate at 0°; anyway the actual flow rate depends on both the configuration and the material to be conveyed.
