Product Description
Silicon dioxide is used in the manufacture of glass, ceramics,
abrasives, concrete products, for the production of silicon, as a
filler in the manufacture of rubber, the production of siliceous
refractories, in chromatography, etc. Quartz crystals have
piezoelectric properties and are therefore used in radio,
ultrasonic devices, in lighters .
Silicon dioxide - the main component of almost all terrestrial
rocks, in particular, diatomite. Of silica and silicates is *7% of
the mass of the lithosphere.
Non-porous amorphous silica used in the food industry as an
excipient E**1, preventing caking and clumping, parapharmaceuticals
(toothpaste), in the pharmaceutical industry as an excipient
(included in most Pharmacopoeias), as well as food supplements or
medication as enterosorbent.
Artificially the films of silicon dioxide is used as an
insulator in the manufacture of chips and other electronic
components.
It is also used for the production of fiber-optic cables. With
pure fused silica with the addition to it of some special
ingredients.
Silica fiber is also used in heating elements of electronic
cigarettes, as well absorbs the liquid and is not destroyed by
heating spiral.
