The site map is what you start with during in design, when
requirements have been captured and user research condiucted.
It shows how the site is structured logically, the scope of the
customer's navigation problem, and 'what you have put where'. User
journeys take place "over" the site map, and so it reflects
complexity and the number of clicks to get from A to B.
