Description

Sodium Hydrosulfite (Sodium Dithionite) is free-flowing white crystalline powder. It has strong reducing property. When it comes to heat, wet and air, it will decompose. If keeps heating up to 190℃, it will decompose strongly and release Sulfur Dioxide.

Ignition Temperature: 250℃

Application

l Used in the textile industry for vat dyeing, reduction cleaning, painting and stripping, textile materials bleaching.

l Used in bleaching paper pulps, especially mechanical pulps, its the most fittable bleaching agent in pulps.

l Used in foodstuffs at Sodium hydrosulfite food additive grade, as bleaching agent and preservative in dried fruits, dried vegetable, vermicelli, glucose, sugar, rock sugar, caramel, candy, liquid glucose, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and canned mushrooms.

l Used as reducing agent in the chemical industry.

Sodium Sulfite is white crystalline powder. It is irritative to skin, eyes, and mucosa. It will emit Sodium Sulfide and Sodium Sulfate by high temperature and it will lose crystal water in 150℃. When contacting with the strong acid, it will decompose the related salt and release sulfur dioxide.
