The StraightBolt lock can be mounted in all four mounting directions. The mounting dimensions are standard. The lock is delivered with either metric (M6) mounting screws or US 1/4 – *0 screws. Several software- functionality levels are available. If a valid code has been entered, the lock electronics remove the blocking for 3 seconds and the bolt can be moved into the housing by turning an internal driving cam with a turnable entry unit or a knob. After moving the bolt into LOCKED position, the StraightBolt automatically secures.

With the EM***0 StraightBolt come some significant improvements when compared to most traditional design deadbolt locks. Since there are growing concerns regarding the security of a solenoid, and the fact that they consume a relatively high amount of power, the blocking element used in this lock is a motor. Unlike any other (to our knowledge) lock design using a motor, our design means that themotor is not pulling/pushing the bolt to open/lock but instead have a cam design blocking bolt movement. This also means that the motor does not have to reverse to block as there is a spring that will return cam to blocking position once power to motor is gone saving the battery even more.

When designing this lock we also took into account the concerns some people were voicing regarding having a cable that bends of sharply at lock-case and then turn every time the keypad is turned which could cause wear on the cable to the extent that individual leads in cable would break causing a lock-out. The design of this lock is such that the cable is routed in spindle, relatively close to the centre, ant comes all the way through lock case before it is routed into a dedicated relief channel. This means that there are no wear on cable during any part of the opening/closing cycle.
