Product Description

This product is made from Ultra Violet resistant durable polypropelene and is BPA free. The
characteristics of this product is the high surface area per cubic meter of filter media.The bioballs have a diameter of *0mm and are made from polypropylene. The black colour is derived from the addition
of carbon black to make the bioball more stable against UV degradation.The bioball consists of twelve disks of *0mm diameter which are joined at a central hollow axis. There are other supporting structures within the bioball to add to the rigidity of the ball.This ball is easily superior to other bioballs and pall rings on the market due to the improved structural design and combined lightness in weight of the ball,thus effectively increasing the stacking height of the media.The high surface area of our super bioball is used as a surface area where bacteria and higher
organic protozoa can attach to. Under normal operation the water passing over the super bioball
will cause the biomass slime layer that has built up to wash off. This phenomenon is called
“sloughing” and is to be expected. The sloughed material is settle-able in a clarifier normally
situated after the biological filter.
