Anti-Vandal Panel The glass of Anti-vandal(Abbreviation;AV) panel which is made of extra-tough glass toughened by physical or chemical technology can resist high impact, suited to high-threat applications such as kio- sks, ATMs, amusement machines, etc. AV panels with thickness of 6mm which are toughened by physical technology (Abbreviation; physical AV) keep undamaged collided by a 1kg steel ball falling from a height of 1m;physical AV panels with thickness of 4mm keep undamaged collided by a **0g steel ball falling from a height of 1.5m. There're two kinds of toughening, one is physical, another is chemical. The advantage of physical toughening is that there're no sharp-pointed pieces when phys- ical AV panels are broken, so they can't damage any people, thus physical AV glass is also called secure glass. But thin glass(with thickness less than 5mm) is difficult to be toughened by physical technology, the another shortcoming of physical AV glass is that their strength is not so perfect. Chemical technology can toughen glass with almost any thickness, even if glass is thinner than 0.5mm. Its strength can be adjusted according to requirements of application. The strength of AV panels toughened by chemical technol- ogy(Abbreviation: Chemical AV) can be three times of that of physical AV panels. With same strength, Chemical AV panels can be thinner than physical panels. Replacing physic- al AV panels with chemical AV panels, weight and measurement can be reduced without loss of strength, so the products become lighter, the freightage and space required for insta- llation is reduced obviously.
