The unalloyed state of Tungsten Metal is also called Pure Tungsten. We make our Tungsten Metal by the technique of Powder Metallurgy (PM). This is where Tungsten powder is extracted from the crushed ore and then roasted and heated in a hydrogen atmosphere until united into a strong structure. While Pure Tungsten is brittle and challenging to handle, it still has the highest melting point of all non-alloyed metals. Therefore, it is used in electrical applications such as filaments and targets for light bulbs and x-ray tubes.
