MAINTENANCE
 
Establish an inspection schedule for the expansion joint covers. Clean damp contaminants away by wiping with a clean cloth. Clean aluminum cover plates using clean cloths, warm water and a gentle detergent (detergents for use with aluminum pots and pans are acceptable). To remove tough stains, a solvent or emulsion cleaner may be needed. These cleaners must be spot tested prior to use.
