Application Process

1st Step.: Prep. your Walls
To acheive a professional stone effect finish, prepare all surfaces well.
Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, sound and dry.
Repair any damage, cracks, dents or holes with a suitable filler.
Sand pre-painted or lacquered surfaces to provide a key.
Stir paint well with a broad mixing stick to ensure an even texture.

2nd Step: Basic Application
Apply one coat of Primer, allowing 1 - 3 hours to dry depending on conditions
Apply Stone Coating in multiple thin coats. For best results do not try to cover in one pplication.
Allow each coat to dry thoroughly, approx. 1 - 3 hours, before applying the next.
Spread the paint as evenly as possible, alternating the direction of brush strokes with each coat.
Each coat will be easier to apply than the last.

3rd Step.: Effect Application
Follow the basic application.
After applying the third or final coat, paint the surface with brush, roller, paint gun and other tools according the textures you want.

4th Step.: Allow the Paint dry for one day
The paint will need at last one day for dry for the top coating or texture coating.

Important Tips:

Advised Coating System: wall putty paint(1~2 layers), then anti-alkali primer(1 layer), and the final topcoat(1~3 layers)

Q9: Do i need surface preparation before painting?
A: Yes. The detail is as below.
Remove all loose, peeling paint.
Remove dirt and grease with a concrete & masonry degreaser & cleaner product.
Remove mildew stains with a mildew stain removing product.
Sand patched or rough surfaces smooth by use ***-grit sandpaper.

Q*0. What kind of problems will face in paint application?
A: Several common questions are as follow:
Peeling Off: the reason for the peeling-off paint is often an improperly prepared surface, poor quality of putty and primer, and moisture seeping through from the wall to the paint surface.
      
Bubbling & blisters: Blisters are caused when the newly applied paint detaches from the surface beneath for one reason or another. The blisters look rather like pox on a face and are unsightly bumps on the smooth paint surface. The blisters can be caused by heat, moisture, incompatibility and more. Here are ways you can avoid paint blisters.                         
Chalking: wall loose, excess water or when the temperature is below the application requirement;
Crack: wall (or substrate) cracking, is by the use of poor quality putty;   
Fade: the wall was not full dry, and the wall was too alkaline, mainly caused by paint quality problem.

Q*1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using brush or roller?
A. Roller Cover: Easy to use, higher quality and seamless finish with faster and simpler clean-up, different size available for different area. The disadvantage is hard to paint irregular shaped objects.
Brush: Easy to paint objects of any shape. The disadvantage is inefficient, labor-intensive, general decorative properties.

Q*2. How to apply effectively by using a brush?
A: Brush dipped in paint no more than half of the brush hair, and if the brush roots dipped into the paint, paint brush will be deformed, brush life will be shortened. Stained paint brush paint brush before the inner surface of the container must apply onto it, so as to remove excess paint dripping paint to the ground.
