Biquinho Peppers, also known as Chupetinho, Pimenta de Bico or Chupetinha are produced from the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. These delicious peppers are round and little with a distinctive, tapered point or tail that resembles a birds beak. They can be either a brilliant scarlet-red or sunshine-yellow.
Although the Biquinho is called a pepper, it is literally not hot and has a very low SCOVILLE HEAT UNIT OF Scoville Units: 0 ~ ***0 SHU . With a low heat level. Sweet and fruity with a habanero like flavor and are most eaten in Brazil pickled in a vinegar solution and served as a garnish or as an appetizer with drinks.
The Biquinho Pepper is still relatively unknown in Western Markets but a staple pepper in Brazil. The Biquinho Pepper is used mainly as appetizer or decoration for foods. Great with Salads and the Puree can be a great addition to your hot sauce recipes.
