What is Glyceryl Caprylate ?

Glyceryl Caprylate is colorless, odorless, low-viscosity transparent liquid, neutral. Easily mixed with ethanol, isopropanol, chloroform, glycerin and other solvents. Also soluble in many lipid substances in cosmetics. Stable at low temperature, still transparent below 0oC (freezing point **0oC), HLB value is *2.5.

Glyceryl caprylate is a hydrophilic emulsifier. In fact, its structure is exactly the same as that of oil, and it is a glyceride with three fatty acids attached, so it has no emulsification, and it should be said that it is not an emulsifier. But it has the structure of medium carbon chain, and its molecular weight is only half of that of ordinary oil, which can stabilize between oil and water, so it has a stable effect after emulsification. Its viscosity is only half of that of ordinary grease, and its specific gravity is larger than that of ordinary grease. These properties make its stability after emulsification far superior to that of ordinary grease.
