Product Specification

Product Description

What is VCI?   A Volatile or Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor is a class of chemical compounds which emit a rust-inhibiting vapor into the air to prevent corrosion on a metal product either in contact or vapor form. Typically, a packaging material such as paper or poly film is the carrier for the VCI chemical, but it could be a number of substrates. VCIs typically eliminate the need for oils and liquid rust preventatives.

Where can VCI be used?In any metal application, such as automotive, aerospace, industrial, electronics, musical instruments, steel processing, jewelry, marine, farm machinery, export.

Why use VCI?  By using VCI, old products like grease and oils liquids and all associated equipment to dip/spray are no longer needed. VCI Reduces labor (no need to apply and remove liquids). ARMOR VCI is environmental friendly, easy to use, and fast since typically similar packaging is already needed. (ie. poly bag). Using oils, parts are just protected for *5 days, while items can be stored for several years and protected during shipping or in plant with ARMOR VCI.

Most machinery and parts suppliers are used to dealing with corrosion in their metal parts. Although most companies recognize and appreciate that it is critical to satisfy customers needs, few have taken the steps necessary to achieve a sufficient level of protection on their metal parts. The annual costs of metallic corrosion are estimated to be hundreds of billions of Dollars annually. These costs include: increased manufacturing costs, repairs and maintenance, depreciation, re-works, product replacement, customer complains, shipment rejections. Furthermore, according to studies *0 % of these costs could be avoided through application of existing technologies and best known practices. On the other hand, more and more customers demand clean and dry parts, free of corrosion.

Armor Protective Packaging® provides the industrys simplest, cleanest, easiest and safest corrosion management systems for metal products. ARMORs full line of VCI (volatile/vapor corrosion inhibiting) packaging products, desiccants and its rust removal solution are designed to protect ferrous and non-ferrous metals before, during and after transport or storage. ARMORs industry reputation as a trusted business partner has been built by serving its customers and preserving their investments for more than a quarter-century. In addition, Armor is an approved supplier to many of the worlds leading manufacturers, like GM, Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, TRW, Dana, Federal Mogul to mention  a few.
