Applications of  RTV  silicon rubber for molding:
Silicone Rubber is mainly used for mold making for the mass production of parts in various materials (plaster, wax, reconstituded stone, various resins (epoxy, acrylic, polyester), silicone elastomer, such as:
  1. Furnishing : casting of furniture and decoration
  2. Figurines : toys, candles, statues, giftware, soap, craft projects, sculpture
  3. Decorative items : cornices, columns, ornaments, statues......
  4. Construction: prefabrication of decorative features, pavement, paving stone, urban furniture, concrete casting.
Description of RTV silicon rubber for molding:
It is a tin based mould making silicone rubber that cures at room temperature to form a tough flexible rubber with excellent tensile and tear strength approximately about 24 hours.
  1. Good operability and fluidity.

Notice : Hardness and viscosity are adjustable according to customers requirements.

Applying release agent
To ensure easy demould, lightly brush a coat of release agent with soft brush over all the surface of original mold. And let the release agent dry for 30 minutes.
Mixing the two components
  • It`s advised to remix based silicone rubber and shake curing agent before mixing them together.
  • Take 100 parts of silicone bass and 3, 4 or 5 parts of curing agent by weight accurately.
  • Mix two components thoroughly 3 minutes by electrical by mixer and make sure that you scrape the sides and bottom of drum.
Vacuum Degassing
After mixing silicone base and curing agent, vacuum degassing is recommended to eliminate any entrapped air. Vacuum material will be for 2-3 minutes. The bubble will disappear gradually.
Pouring mixture
For the best results, please pour the mixture components at the lowest point of the drum on a uniform flow to minimize entrapped air. Note that silicone rubber level should level at lease 1.3cm over the highest point of original mold surface.
Crossing linking and curing
The best curing conditions is at room temperature of 25`C and humidity of 50%. The use of silicone at higher temperature will reduce the pot life and curing time. On the contrary, the use of silicone on at lower temperature will increase the pot life and mix ratio.
Allow the mould cure at least 24 hours at room temperature before demoulding. Do not cure silicone rubber mould below 20`C. In order to achieve the best possible performance levels from the moulds, it is performance to use them after 24 hours.
