Product Introduction
Sodium tetraborate decahydrate, with the chemical formula
Na₂B₄O₇·10H₂O and CAS number 1303 - 96 - 4, is a naturally
occurring mineral. It appears as white crystals or a
crystalline powder, with a density of 1.73 g/cm³ and a molar
mass of approximately 381.37 g/mol. It is soluble in water
and glycerol, but insoluble in ethanol. When heated above 75
°C, it begins to lose crystal water, and becomes anhydrous at
380 °C.

Excellent Buffering Capacity: It can form a
stable buffer system in the pH range of 9 - 10. In an
aqueous solution, it dissociates to produce boric acid and
borate ions, which can maintain a stable pH even when acids

raw material for manufacturing borosilicate glass and an
additive for enamel. It can also be used in the glazes of

Detergent and Cleaning Products: As a multi -
functional component in detergents, it can act as a buffer
to maintain the pH at 9 - 10 to activate the detergent; it
can also chelate calcium and magnesium ions to play a role
in water softening, and enhance the cleaning effect in
cooperation with percarbonates and silicates.
Chemical Synthesis: It can be used as a
catalyst or additive in many organic reactions, such as Nef
reaction, Knoevenagel condensation, etc. It can also be
