The ELISA SYPHILIS-Ab Screen Reagent kit is designed for simultaneous determination of IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies to Treponema pallidum (Syphilis) in human blood serum (plasma) by applying ELISA technique.
 Modern specific laboratory diagnostic of Syphilis based on the determination of special infection contamination markers to Treponema pallidum antigens IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies to Syphilis. At present times ELISA technique is applied for detection of specific antibodies to Treponema pallidum for preliminary diagnostic of Syphilis infection and blood-bank testing.
 Treponema pallidum - a mobile microorganism from the spirochete detachment. Treponema pallidum is the causative agent of syphilis in women and men. For the diagnosis of syphilis used structural antigens p*7, p*7 and TmpA, which have the highest immunoreactivity to human antibodes.
 The first IgM antibodies produced after Treponema pallidum infection. They begin detected already in the second week after infection. At 6 - 9 weeks, their number becomes maximum. If the patient is not treated, the antibodies disappear after six months. IgG antibodies appear at the end of the first month (4 weeks) from the time of infection. Their titer is higher than IgM titer. IgG antibodies persist after cure for a fairly long time.
