Nickel **1 is the low-carbon version of Nickel **0. Because of its low carbon content, Nickel **1 is not subject to embrittle by intergranularly precipitated carbon or graphite when exposed to temperatures of **5 to **0℃ for prolonged time. Therefore, Nickel **1 is a substitute for Nickel **0 in Applications above **5℃. However, Nickel **0 also suffer from intergranular embrittlement by sulfur compounds at temperatures above **5℃. Sodium peroxide can be used to change them to sulfates to counteract their effect.

Applications:
Nickel **1 is applied in Electronic components, caustic evaporators, combustion boats and plater bars.
