Application:N, N-DIMETHYL*1, *-PROPANEDIAMINE contains one primary and one tertiary amine group, which makes it of interest in many applications. For instance, when DMAPA is heated with a fatty acid, an amide containing a tertiary amine group is formed.
Such amides can be treated with hydrogen peroxide to give amine oxides, which show excellent detergent and foam boosting properties.
