Also known as Ironwood, it will outlast most other decking products on the market. Its heartwood is olive brown to blackish, often with lighter or darker striping covered with a yellow powder. Fine to medium texture; low to medium luster; straight to very irregular grain. It is prized for its stability, durability, strength and natural resistance to decay, wet conditions, and infestation by termites and borers.
