Description

Laminate Overlap Stairnose Size - 7 *0" L x 2 1/8" W x 3/4" T Overlap Stair Nose is used to provide a secure transition from the flooring surface while allowing the floating floor system to expand and contract freely at the step-down location. Overlap Stair Nose â (Floating Method) - provides the proper transition for stairways or steps, which have hardwood floors that have been installed using the floating installation method. The Stair Nose also provides the proper overhang for a transition from one floor level to the next such as the step into a sunken living room. ⢠A complete line of trims and transition pieces are offered to finish your floor, including T-Molding, Reducers, End Molding/Carpet Transitions, Wallbase, Quarter Round and Stairnosing. Installation Tips: ⢠The Stairnosing is used to finish stair treads and risers. ⢠Stop the flooring about *1/2" from the steps edge. ⢠Install the Molding Track by gluing, screwing or nailing it 3/4" from the edge of the stair tread. ⢠Apply construction grade adhesive to the Stairnosing where the molding makes contact with the stair tread. ⢠Push the Stairnose into the track from left to right. ⢠You must use either screw-type fasteners or nails through the face of the Stairnose to permanently secure it to the track. ⢠Place screws/nails into the Stairnose 2" from the end and 6" to 8" apart. (Note: riser piece should be in place under Stairnosing before screws or nails are used). ⢠The tool of choice for cutting hardwood moldings is a *0 or *2â motorized miter saw with pre-set adjustments for the basic miter cuts at *2.5o, *5o, and *0o. A carbide tipped blade makes the best cuts. Be sure the saw blade is positioned to cut into the finished face ⢠On Wall Base or Quarter Round moldings, never restrict the hardwood floorâs natural contraction/expansion movement by driving the fasteners at a downward angle. Attach the moldings to the wall or vertical surface. ⢠Always miter cuts rather than having butt cuts when splicing. Decide the direction of the miter by cutting the molding with the long point oriented in the same direction as your natural line of vision when you enter the room. ⢠Silicone sealant should be used in expansion zones in bathrooms, near kitchen sinks, dishwashers and refrigerators with icemakers. ⢠Note: In heavy traffic areas, use screw-type fasteners or nails to permanently secure the molding into the Molding Track.
