Description

Volvo Interface *******0 is developed for Volvo/Mack Vehicles and Engines.

The *******0 communication unit enables PC to vehicle communication. The device connects to the PC via a USB cable or by wireless LAN using the **2.*1 b/g standard.
Operating temperature range: **0 to *5°C (**0 to **5°F).
Storage temperature range: **0 to **5°C (**0 to **7°F).
Before the *******0 communication unit can be used, a driver must be installed on the PC. In addition, a utility application (Admin***0) can be used to check the status of the device and update the firmware if and when needed.
There are three different ways, described below, of connecting communication unit*******0.
 
Via USB-cable
Connect the communication unit to the vehicle.
Connect the USB-cable between the communication unit and the PC.
Select communication unit *******0 and USB-cable setting in window Alternative.
 
Directly to the communication unit
Note: Your PC must have Wireless LAN **2.*1b/g and support for **8 bit WEP (encryption), if it is to be used for direct communication with the communication unit. The Panasonic CF*9 has this built into the motherboard. Additional Wireless LAN cards will be recommended in the future.
Connect the communication unit to the vehicle.
Select communication unit *******0 and Direct to communication unit in window Alternative.
 
Security level Directly to the communication unit
Communication is performed using **8 bit WEP, Wired Equivalent Privacy. The WEP-key is generated automatically and is not seen during the configuration.
 
Via an access point
Note: Contact the local IT-support or network technician before installation.
Connect the communication unit to the vehicle.
Select communication unit *******0 and Via an access point in window Alternative.

There are three alternatives for this:
WEP and MAC-address. Communication is performed using **8 bit WEP, Wired Equivalent Privacy. The WEP-key is written in during configuration. The MAC-address is to be written into the access point for additional security.
WPA and PSK. Communication is performed via WPA, Wi-Fi Protected Access.
**2.1x. Communication is performed using standard EAP_MSCHAP v2. The communication unit is then treated as a PC and will be logged on to the network using a username and password.
