Besides the character of normal transformer, arc furnace transformer can also meet the special requirement of steelmaking craft, and has the overload ability and prevents short circuit. It has two adjusting methods: on-load regulation and non-excitation regulation. The arc furnace transformer with on-load regulation does not have the series reactor. The arc furnace transformer with non-excitation regulation can be divided into the one with series reactor and without series reactor. Both of these two structures can change the impedance under the highest secondary voltage. The former changes the impedance according to the input and excision of series reactor, while the latter relies on the bind method of high-tension winding of the transformer itself.
