Sacha Inchi is a relatively small plant, growing to about six feet in height. It has heart-shaped leaves and grows both male and female flowers. The fruits are small and star-shaped, with 4 to 7 points, bright green at first, then turning dark brown as they ripen. A nutritious oil with a mild and nutty taste is extracted from the dark brown seeds of these fruits.
