The EU began restricting phthalates in consumer products on December *4, ***5.  Initially under directive ***5/*4/EC, and later incorporated into Annex *7 of REACH, phthalates are tested using GC-MS according to test method EPA***0C.  STU tests for the following phthalates:
  • Di-(*-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
  • Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP)
  • Di-isononyl phthalate (DINP)
  • Di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP)
  • Di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP)
