The structures of magnetic separator
The magnetic separator is mainly composed of cylinder, magnetic field and cell body. The cylinder is made of rolled stainless steel plate, and there is a layer of wear-resisting material coated into the cylinder’s surface, such as rubber belt, a layer of fine copper line or wear-resisting rubber. The magnetic field is a place where magnetic separator produces magnetism. Every polarity is composed of strontium ferrite permanent magnetic pieces and fixed magnetic guide plate with brass screw passing through the center holes of magnetic patches. The magnetic guild plate is fixed on the cylinder’s axle, and magnetic field is not rotary.
The operating principle of permanent magnetic drum separator
The ore pulp flows into the cell body of magnetic separator through feeding box. In the function of feeding ore shower pipe, the ore flows into the coarse separating field in a loose state. The magnetic mineral grain is absorbed onto the cylinder’s surface in the function of magnetic field force and moves upward along with cylinder. In the process of movement, because the polarity in the magnetic field replace along the radial direction, the chained magnetic ore grain is stirred. In the process of stir, the gangue contained into magnetic ore grain is separated, which helps to improve the quality of magnetic products. The magnetic ore grain leaves magnetic field along with cylinder, and magnetic force greatly decreases. Then it is flowed into concentrate slot in the function of wash water. The non-magnetic ore grain and weak magnetic ore grain flows from tailings hole of base plate to tailings pipe. Because the tailing ore flows through scavenging field where there is high magnetic field, the magnetic particle which can’t be separated magnetically by cylinder in the coarse separating field can be recovered again, improving metal recovery ratio. The mineral pulp flows into separator constantly, and tailings ore and concentrating ore discharge, which forms continuous separating process.
The features of semi-reflux permanent magnetic drum separator
The feeding ore pulp of magnetic separator flows into the separating field in the above of cell body in a loose and suspending state. The pulp’s moving direction is basically same with the direction of magnetic field force. The ore grain can reach to cylinder’s surface which has a high magnetic force. Moreover, the tailings ore discharge from the tailings pipe of base plate, so the height of spillway chute can keep the same level with pulp. the above two features decides that semi-reflux permanent magnetic drum separator can get higher concentrated ore quality and metal recovery, thus it is widely applied to handle coarse separation and concentrated separation in the strong magnetic mines.
