PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Castilla Blend is the major export of Ecopetrol. A few years ago, its main component was a marginal hydrocarbon was used for asphalt, or as a child in other mixtures. This is the story of a profitable transformation.
There was once a pipeline called OCENSA by which light crude is transported. The proper utilization of the installed capacity of Ecopetrol, coupled with a precise combination (blending) of oil and diluent, allowed to use the same pipeline to transport heavy crude.
