Lid fits on Blendtec(R) jars, and Blendtec lids fit on the Alterna Jar(TM). Removable rubber lid cap -semi-permanently attached to lid, for inserting ingredients during blending; does not fall off unless removed; store on lid.

Blade assembly 4 knives sharpened - blade turns clockwise, stainless steel material with bearings; removable blade cutting unit from jar, but not required. DO NOT submerge in water prolonged, do not leave sitting in sink water puddle, do not clean inside dishwasher. Store jar with blade upright not upside down, hand-wash and hand-dry, for increased blade bearing longevity. Very good blade for raspberry strawberry blackberry type seed blending. Very effective!

The Alterna Jar fits on many different blender base styles. Basically there are 2 different style bases. One is the Blendtec design and the other one is like the Vitamix. Vitamix, Omni, Omega, Klarstein, Optimum, Waring 3.5 hp blenders, and Good4U blenders are all the same style. Actually Omni JTC manufactures and then private labels Klarstein and Optimum while Waring makes and then private labels the Good4U. Therefore there are many other brands made by same-kind factories whoes blenders have bases onto which the Alterna Jar fits and is compatible with. The blade has to be switched because the gears are different between the 2 basic base styles and these blenders turn into different operational directions so the blades are sharpened on the opposite sides.
