The flame produces a very heterogeneous fiber quality variation and whose physical and mechanicalcharacteristics depending on various factors.
Camelid fiber are generally influenced by age, sex, altitude ecosystem breeding, feeding and geneticquality as color, fiber type, body region.
The llama fiber, was traditionally considered lower quality than alpaca. However, the result of recent research and thanks to the technological advances of dehairing llama fiber is now considered textile quality similar to alpaca.
Fineness diameters ranging from *8 microns (micrometers) and *5 microns. The finer fibers (most valuable) have no marrow, this favors the dyeing process. The flame generally produces an averagefine fiber fleece *0 to *6 microns which can weigh from 1 to 5 kg.
Llamas produce adequate food selected on average from 2.5 to 3 kilos of fiber per year, with a moreclean yield of *0%.
