Description

GINGER
Ginger is an underground stem or Rhizome of a perennial herb plant, usually abundant in warm, moist tropical countries such as Nigeria. Its uses include; as food spice, in pickles, candies, medicines, oil, oleo resin and preserves. Our African Ginger supply is darker in colour. This type is known for its high monoterpene content, giving it a more pungent aroma with camphoraceous notes. The high oil content and pungency of the African ginger species makes it preferred in the production of oil and oleo resins. It is usually washed whole and sun dried but may be split if requested.
As a minimum the ginger we supply meets American spice trade association minimum quality standards.
