Product Description
Mold Crush-L is a liquid type of mold inhibitor, made from propionic acid which has a strong anti-mold effect. It keeps feed quality as good and prevents side effects from mycotoxin in a feed. Mold Crush-L is convenient to use and able to mix well using a fine-spraying system. It smells less offensive and has less negative effect on palatability of animal.

How the organic acid works as a mold inhibitor

The organic acid passes through the molds membrane and H+ departs from its carboxyl group (COOH). The pH of the cell decreases dramatically due to the presence of H+. In order to maintain homeostasis, the cell pumps out the H+ ions actively through proton pumps. When proton pumps working, it requires energy. Therefore, the cell depletes the energy and it may cause a reduction in cellular uptake of amino acids and nutrients. And with anions, the synthesis of cell wall components, DNA, RNA, lipids, and proteins will go down. These actions of organic acids effectively prevent mold growth.
