DESIGN ADVANTAGES

Glofa Cast Iron Globe Valve is one sort of valve with mandatory seal, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc to assure the seal surface not leaking. When the medium enters the valve from the lower port, the operation will overcome two pressure, one is the friction between the stem and packing, and the other is the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force of closing valve is greater than the force of to open valve, so the valve stems diameter should be large, otherwise the stem may be likely to get bended. For the pressure sealed type globe valve, the medium flow from top port into the valve chamber. under the pressure of the medium, the force to close the valve is small, and the force to open the valve is large, then the stem diameter can be reduced. When open the globe valve, the discs rising height is *5% to *0% of the nominal diameter, and the flow rate has reached at max value, indicating that the valve has reached at fully open position. Therefore, the globe valves fully open or not should be determined by the stroke of the valve disc.
