Prim latch needle is for high speed one.
Polishing finishing : The inside of the hook  and latch are well polished.
The process of polishing reduces wear, tear and spandex yarn cut.
Double latch slot is to avoid latch breakage at high speed and needle tension. 
Double latch slot acts as cushioning, so it can reduce breakage of the latch.
Rounded edge butt is to protect the cams and needles, noise reduction, longer needle and cam life.
Low profile hook and latch  increase the needle life and eliminate cut yarn or spandex 
while maintaining the space under the open latch and the shank of the needle.
