Recently, a smart bag has met its target by attaining an investment of $50,000 in just 2 hours and one minute via crowdfunding campaigning performed at Indiegogo.

The world’s first ever smart connected smartbag is dubbed as Bluesmart Luggage that can easily be synchronized via a mobile app which enables the passenger to check the stuff inside, proximity, remotely lock and unlock it, measuring the weight and track the routes. The originators didn’t create the GPS oriented bags but they have also equipped it with a number of features that make it captivating.

The cofounder of Bluesmart stated that: “We came up with the idea for Bluesmart after suffering a couple of bad experiences with our luggage, when airlines forced us to check bags only to have them mishandled or lost". The founders also added that they were kept observing the world is filled with many latest technologies through which, they can do much better. The luggage hasn’t been such innovative before so this was the stimulus for us to make efforts and design a bag of the decade. Every year, thousands of bags have been misplaced by the American airlines, said Department of Transportation. And not just the US, according to facts issued by SITA, there are about 21.8 million bags that were mishandled across the world in 2013.
The most classic feature is not really related to the carry-on in particular. The luggage has a battery installed within it that is reliable to recharge the six devices for various actions.
The GPS-detected carry-on is already available on the market provided by different companies involving bluesmart project on Indiegogo which is expected to make their operations live on Nov 24. Presently, there least contribution for the campaign starts from $215 as the beginning tier of $195 has been sold out. However, the people can also make their names embedded by contributing $1 and get your name on the website.
There would be several technical challenges coming across while preparing the device but the makers state they contain operational prototypes.
"We now have a new generation of fully functional Bluesmart prototypes and - unlike previous iterations made in-house - they have been built by our manufacturing partners," the campaign states. "This gives us great certainty about the manufacturing process to come."
