The 40th La Grange Craft Show in 2014 this July became one of a kind like it does every year. On July 12-13, more than 185 tents exhibited variable kinds of crafts and artistic works with creation, innovation, and perfection found in most of them. An estimated 6000 to 8000 visitors and shoppers will drop by this year to the festival in the heart of the village at the central business district.

The craft show mainly caters viewers and visitors with a variety of eye-tantalising projects and DIYs. Baby’s gifts, summer flowers, fall floral, gardening and yard stuffs, pet accessories and DIY items with guides, hand crafted jewellery that will include fused glass and antique spoon sets will also be coming on, photography moments and sports goods made from turned wood and wood-centric items, mosaic birdbaths concrete yard adornments and hand-made top class fishing equipments; with most of them hand-made, the featured items will be of top quality as well. A VIP card deal will also be given out, with the cardholders getting discounted privileges and special offers; with a lucky draw for several prizes in the end of the Crafts Show, which is on Sunday.

Among the many showcased items, the ones which received greater applauds was a stained-glass table-resting fountain set brought to purity by the La Grange’s Artisan Ruth Kopala who can also be found online at derglaswerks(com).

Wanted to do something different, said Kopala, so one day she filled in her stained-glass lampshade water after turning it upside down. The possibilities were bright, she said, and hence the results were capable enough to catch the visitors then coming to her stall.

A jewellery designer Patricia Hachenberg brought marvellous pieces of jewellery this year too with awe-inspiring designs and awesome craftsmanship details added to every piece. She said: every single piece of jewellery can be transformed into another with a completely different look using her very own personal stash of materials. Repurposed pieces, bracelets, necklaces, and handmade masterpieces were brought by her created from broken jewellery and discarded materials too!

The best part of the Gifts and Crafts Show in La Grange is the DIY exploitation from the experts themselves becoming artists with one-of-a-kind materials brought to surface.
