FARMER SUPPLIES:
ILERA heritage can be traced back to small-scale supply chains in
Nigeria, originally working with sesame farmers in Nigeria. Today
our farmer supply chain incorporates both small-scale farmers
within Nigeria and our large-scale farmers that supply direct
into our processing facilities.
Our sourcing network is adding value to the supply chain and
specifically contributing to building rural economies. We are now
a recognised lead supplier of agricultural products and food
ingredients to a broad range of customers. It is key to have
systems and processes in place to track the chain of custody
across the supply chain, as well as a set of comprehensive
conditions to purchase and trade raw materials / products that
are produced in a manner that is socially responsible,
economically viable and environmentally sustainable.
We have continued to strengthen our Corporate Policies on – Health & Safety, Environment & Sustainability and Quality. These form the foundation of the ILERA Codes of Practice. All new construction is subject to an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and subsequent local regulatory approvals. Energy efficiency, water intensity and emissions are key considerations, as well as impact on local communities through effective waste management.
