As part of the tsunami relief team, we started Laga Handbags to help the tsunami survivors of Indonesia rebuild their homes and their lives. Our stunning handmade handbags are more than fashionable accessories. They are hope and help, in the form of exquisitely hand-crafted pieces of art. All Laga bags are handmade by the people in the province of Aceh, Indonesia; by Hanna, by sisters Salbiah & Ratina, by Jurina and other very talented artisans. Each handbag sewn and sold brings hope for a better tomorrow. "If you're going to carry a handbag anyway, why not carry one that helps rebuild lives " That's what the women at our Home Shows say. We agree, of course! Together, we're helping women around the world: from the Indonesian women proudly and carefully sewing each handbag, to the Laga Consultants working from home as our sales force. We formed Laga Designs International to provide income for those who lost their livelihood, but what transpired is much, much more: we developed personal relationships with the people of Aceh and we left our hearts in their homes.
