Mitech Associates have been involved for many years in the development of what the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) call, 'Clean Fuel Technology'. Our area of development involves applying specific magnetic fields to various fossil fuels. When applied correctly, the fuels are conditioned to burn more efficiently, thereby producing more energy per unit of fuel and a (pro-rata) reduction in harmful greenhouse gass emissions. The growing industrialization of many developing countries is reflected in their rapidly rising consumption of energy. These trends, in turn, are reflected in rising global energy use. Producing additional supplies of energy to meet growing demand, however, often leads to other problems in developing countries. These include raising the huge sums required to finance capital-intensive energy production facilities without diverting capital from other critical development needs, as well as coping with the increased levels of pollution and other energy-related environmental degradation. Policy measures to address these problems are well known, if not always easy to implement. Privatization of energy systems, for example, is one way in which countries are increasingly dealing with the problem of financing.
