As comes from human psyche, the structures which are the most unattractive are the ones which are most hyped all around the world. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a good example from our 2000+ era which is still renowned for its weird phenomenon!

Chinese architects and builders have been completely obsessed with this theory lately by making such artefacts in real world where, when looked from up above, the overall look of the buildings (the weird ones only) look very awkward, yet amazing at the same time. Tourists and the likes always go for ‘these’ types of architectures and infrastructures where the picture is actually a sight-seeing picture to preserve into the digital imaging formats. ‘Selfies and Wefies’ are the latest trends and what could be better than a background where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is accommodating the whole picture except for where your face is being focused!

Enough of the imaging department already, the Chinese president Xi Jinping spoke otherwise in a symposium last week held at Beijing in front of the Chinese media and dazzled moist of them. He called out for lesser ostentatious infrastructures and structures to be focused on from now on in the Skylines of China. Some comments which were posted on the State Media Daily on social profiles since 16 October have now been deleted. The building which was targeted then IS a VERY awkward building which is shaped like a male excretion organ, and is the HQ of the state-run newspaper, People’s Daily. Though a global stir of comments and criticism has since been addressed at whether the buildings and constructions with imaginary concepts being brought to life, will no further be seen, or not. Maybe the president does not like the concept of selfies being taken at protests, such as the event at Hong Kong, but who knows what the realm brings in the future!?!

This Teapot shaped building in Wuxi is a good example of out of the box thinking from the architectures and interior designers, where shapes and clay-work are portrayed. What will futuristic buildings’ fate be, is what we have yet to see!
