The developing alleged tablet is equipped with updated hardware configuration, slim design and will be available for sale at ‘very’ affordable prices. The name suggested by the company is Jolla tablet which will contain its own Sailfish OS, which are installed in their Smartphone series, as well.
In order for the development of its very own first tablet, Jolla signed up to Indiegogo, a premium crowd funding platform and initiated a campaign with having a target of $380,000 within time span of 21 days . However, the company has met the target within the next couple of hours due to its unique and attractive design and features. The involvement of people is still on its peak and they have already surpassed the prescribed target of the campaign. According to Indiegogo statistics, more than are 5426 funders have contributed the total funding of $1,385,347 which is hard to believe for sure!
The company paid gratitude to the funders as they have never expected that their campaign could reach and registered a record breaking milestone. The first tier of the tablets has already been sold out at price ranges of $189 and $199. Therefore, the initial 2000 contributors who have contributed at $189 will get their own Jolla tablet under same price next year, which is a great deal. However, another deal is waiting for another 2000 units who are still funding in this campaign.
Therefore, the funders can still contribute in the manufacturing of Jolla tablet which will be available for sale in early second quarter of next year via Indeigogo. The one needs to contribute at least $204 for grab the ownership of their jolly tablet. The contributors should belong to countries like US, the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Russia, India, China, or Hong Kong.
Just like the Jolla Smartphone, the Jolla Tablet runs Sailfish OS. It’s a 7.5mm-thin slate that features a 7.9-inch IPS display with 1536 x 2048 pixels, quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 4300 mAh battery. The tablet has two cameras: a 5 MP one on the back, and a 2 MP one at the front.
